We are constantly developing our maths skills. Have a look below at some examples of us using our maths skills as part of our science work.
Ms Merrigan's Room 1 used the Data strand in Maths, as well as their technology skills, to record the favourite Skittles flavours of the children in the class, while learning about their senses.
The children in Rooms 36 and 38 used their Maths measuring skills and knowledge when investigating how and why meteorites created craters of various sizes on the moon.
The boys and girls in Room 35 used their Maths and Science skills to show how shadows are formed and how they can be made bigger or smaller.
Meanwhile, not only did Room 37 engage in a similar investigation of shadows, they also estimated and measured how far the light from a torch could travel.
Maths Trail
The first classes also developed and participated in a maths trail around the school.
